We’ve gone Green.

We’ve gone Green.

We have been planning to go Green – as in environmentally friendly – as soon as our contract with our previous web host expired later this summer. One of the bonuses to come out of the tech failures earlier this month is that we are now transitioning sooner. Our new host – Green Geeks – is one of the best when it comes to saving the planet.

It’s surprising how much energy web servers can consume. Green Geeks lays it all out on their website – by 2020, information technology is projected to be on par with the airline industry in terms of its contribution to climate change. Yep, you’re reading that right – computer usage and jet planes will contribute the same amount to global climate change.

To fight that trend, Green Geeks purchases wind energy credits to put back into the grid 3x the energy it consumes.

Our website will now proudly display our eco-friendly badge in the upper right-hand corner.

Our own version of chaos.

Our own version of chaos.

While President Trump has been careening from one scandal to the next, one crisis to another, we’ve been dealing with our own chaos. Unexpected web host issues have caused our .com website to shut down – temporarily. Well, not as temporarily as we would like. So we are setting up a new website with new emails and hope to have everything back to normal as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we are very busy with the Conservation Congress, whose county meetings were held last night, Indivisible Clark County whose meeting will take place tonight at 6pm in the Greenwood City Hall/Library conference room, and with plans to visit our elected representatives for their Town Halls now that the 2-week spring recess has arrived. If they have them.

Watch the right-hand column for information about our next meeting. We have a date but are still waiting to confirm a location. We’ll update that soon as well as post it on our Facebook Page.

If you have been trying to reach us using our .com email accounts, just switch to .org and everything will feel like it’s back to normal.

Our apologies for the disruption.
